Islamabad: Most of the prominent Pakistani cricketers who earn millions of rupees annualyl don’t pay taxes even some of them have no National Tax Number (NTN).
The Federal Bureau of Revenue (FBR) has issued notices to six cricketers, including Misbahul Haq, Wahab Riaz, Umar Akmal, Taufiq Umar, Azhar Ali and Muhammad Hafeez.
The FBR said Wahab Riaz had no NTN number while he earned millions of rupees annually.
Similarly, Muhammad Hafeez, Misbah, Umar Akmal, who lie in central contract category with handsome salaries didn’t submit income tax returns for the last couple of years.
Azhar Ali, Taufiq Umar also earn more than Rs 20 million each annually.
