After Madonna, Angelina Jolie shows her support for Malala Yousafzai

New York: Hollywood actress and United Nations Goodwill Ambassador Angelina Jolie has showed her support for Malala Yousafzai, suggesting that the Pakistani child activist should “be given serious consideration” for this year’s Nobel Peace Prize.Angelina Malala

“After reading the article, I felt compelled to share Malala’s story with my children,” Jolie writes in The Daily Beast. “It was difficult for them to comprehend a world where men would try to kill a child whose only ‘crime’ was the desire that she and others like her be allowed to go to school.”

Malala is undergoing treatment in the UK after being shot in the head last week. She is said to be making a ‘good recovery’.

Jolie writes her “children asked, ‘Why did those men think they needed to kill Malala?’ I answered, ‘because an education is a powerful thing’”.

Malala, the daughter of a school principal, has been blogging for the BBC since 2011, writing about her daily life fighting to end inequality in Pakistan.
