British High Commission grips Altaf Hussain over Karachi separation speech

adam thompsonISLAMABAD: British High Commissioner in Pakistan, Adam Thompson said that Government of Pakistan should take serious notice over the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain’s speech for the separation of Karachi from the country.

Talking to a press conference, Thompson said that promotion of hatred and violence is liable to punishment under British laws, if the allegations proved the criminals have to face jail.

Thompson confirmed that London metropolitan police is now investigating the hundreds of received complaints from Britain and Pakistan citizens against separation statements from MQM chief Altaf Hussain.

However, Thompson observed that Altaf had further denied for making such statements but investigations were still undergoing to resolve the received complains.

He added that London Metropolitan Police had started collecting the records of complainers to to make proofs credible.

He said that their is no extradition laws between Pakistan and United Kingdom to exchange the accused or convicts persons but after going through some legal complications Altaf Hussain extradition is possible.

“We accept what observers of European Union have said,” Thompson said and added that current election was better than all previous elections of the country.
