PHC Chief Justice Justice Dost Muhammad Khan and Justice Fasih-ul-Mulk heard the missing persons’ case today.
The court directed the head of the Peshawar police to visit all prisons in the city and find out if prisoners were being illegally detained.
Special Secretary (Home) Syed Alamgir Shah told the court that 895 missing persons have been shifted to special centers in Malakand to date. Moreover, a special board with regards to the disappearances in Peshawar has been established that visited those special centers.
He also apprised the court that so far 1,000 persons have been released.
Justice Dost Muhammad remarked that the court wanted to conclude the hearing today only, but the secretary was taking the case lightly. Later, the court termed the report unsatisfactory.
