The prominent among those who make the most of it was former law minister Babar Awan who earn as many as Rs 20.42 million for representing the federation in NRO, Karachi law and order case and NICL case.
According to a TV report, Mr Awan received Rs 6.6 million for representing the federal government in a suo motu case into Karachi targeted killings last year.
Babar Awan was given Rs 5.5 million fee to appear in National Insurance Corporation Limited (NICL) corruption case in the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
The National Assembly session chaired by Speaker Dr Fehmida Mirza was informed by the Law Ministry on Friday that senior lawyers Hafeez Pirzada and Wasim Sajjad were given Rs 7.6 million and 5.9 million respectively in account of fee for representing the government in different cases.
The ministry informed the house in written that 273 people (Punjab 190, Sindh 63, Balochistan 12 and KPK 8) benefitted from the NRO).
