In the first stage the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the Inter Faith Harmony (MORA AND SI), Government of Pakistan seeks expression of interest from scheduled banks to provide these services under the terms and conditions below for Hajj 2014 Pakistan.
The total expenditure for the 2014 Hajj in Government Scheme Hajj is 303,000 / – PKR (approx) and the Ministry of Religious Affairs will begin accepting applications for Hajj in second week of March 2014. Hajj application forms will be available to the designated banks across Pakistan. Hajj applications will be accepted first come first served basis, however if someone already did Hajj in the last 5 years will not be eligible for Government Hajj Scheme.

This year, 56000 Pakistanis will go for Hajj through government scheme will private travel agencies will carry 86000 pilgrims.
About the expenditure, Minister informed media that Karachi, Quetta and Sukkur pilgrims will have to spend 262000 while those belonging to Islamabad, Multan, Rahim Yar Khan and Sialkot will have to pay 272000 Pakistani rupees for Hajj.
Yusuf said that due to the expansion project of Masjid-Ul-Haram, this year 20 percent less pilgrims will reach Saudi Arabia.
The new Hajj policy states that anyone who has performed Hajj during the last five years will not beeligible to partake in the pilgrimage this year except for those people who will be going as ‘Mehram’ or the ones performing ‘Hajj-e-Badal’.

According to the Joint Secretary Hajj, Shehzad Ahmad, the applications of 85,000 pilgrims had been accepted and there would be a loss if 18,000 were not allowed to perform Hajj. Ahmad added that advance payments had been made for the housing of pilgrims and the issue of returning funds had been raised with Saudi government.
The 20 percent decrease in Hajj Quota is applicable for all Muslim countries due to the ongoing expansion project of the Masjid-e-Haram.
