LONDON: London Metropolitan Police have arrest a very first suspect in the Dr Imran Farooq murder case. A British citizen of Pakistani origin was arrested Monday morning at the Heathrow Airport when he returned from Canada.
According to police officials, the 52 year old suspect has been charged with conspiracy to murder Dr Imran Farooq. Metropolitan Police also confirmed that further arrests would be made in the case.
Last week, the Metropolitan Police Counter Terrorism Unit conducted a 55 hour search at two North West London residential addresses with one of them belonging to MQM chief, Altaf Hussain.
Dr Farooq, the former convener of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) was stabbed to death outside his home on 16th September 2010 as he was returning home.
