Contempt Notice Against Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh

In India‚ the Kolkatta High Court has issued a contempt of court notice to Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and four others in a case involving inhuman behavior with a ten-year old girl student.indian prime minister

The Division Bench of the Court took this action against the Prime Minister being the Chancellor of Visva Bharati University.

According to the details of the case the ten-year old student Punita Singh was forced to drink her own urine as a punishment for bed-wetting.

The Bench observed that the University had violated the courts earlier directive where it had banned all forms of corporal punishments.

Manmohan accepts Zardari’s invitation to visit Pakistan

NEW DEHLI: President Asif Ali Zardari met Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at the latter’s official residence where both leaders termed the meeting fruitful,zardari and manmohan

According to the sources, India has demanded action against the founder of Lashkar-e-Tioba (LeT) Hafiz Mohammad Saeed. The US last week announced US $10 million bounty on him.

After the one-on-one meeting they addressed the media.

President Zardari thanked PM Manmohan for hosting him though he was on a private visit.

‘I thank PM Manmohan Singh for hosting me as I am on a private visit. India and Pakistan are neighbours and would like to have better relations.’

He said his meeting with the Indian PM was fruitful and they discussed all issues concerning both countries.

Manmohan said he had a very friendly and constructive dialogue on all bilateral issues adding that he is very satisfied with Zardari’s visit.

Sindh said that President Zardari had invited him to Pakistan and he will be very happy to visit at a convenient time.

President Zardari is in India on a day-long trip to visit Ajmer and to attend a luncheon hosted in his honour by Indian PM.

It is the first ever visit of President Zardari to India as President of Pakistan, which will provide a chance to promote bilateral relations between the two countries.

Upon arrival Parliamentary affairs minister Pawan Kumar Bansal received the president at the airport. Bansal will also accompany Zardari to the Ajmer shrine of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti. Zardari headed straight to the PM’s official residence at 7 Race Course Road for the one-on-one talks.

The president’s delegation to New Delhi comprised of Chairman of Pakistan People’s Party and his son Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Interior Minister Rehman Malik, Foreign Secretary Jalil Abbas Jilani and his personal and security staff.

President Zardari is the first Pakistani head of state to visit India in seven years after the visit of President Pervez Musharraf in 2005.

Top level security

India will provide highest level of security to the delegation of President Asif Ali Zardari during their one-day pilgrimage to Ajmer Sharif.

As Zardari is expected to reach Ajmer around 5pm, he may offer “Asr” namaz at the holy shrine of Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti. He will fly out from Jaipur the same day.

The president, his son Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Interior Minister Rehman Malik and other members of the delegation will stay for 35 minutes inside the dargah. The delegation will arrive at Sanganer airport in Jaipur in a special aircraft from where they will leave for Ajmer in helicopters. Four helicopters carrying them will land at the Ghughara helipad at 4.10 pm.
