KARACHI: The Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) on Tuesday arranged a first of its kind training seminar and practical demonstration on high voltage power distribution for the faculty members of NED University’s Electrical Department at KESC’s Training Centre.
Groups of students from the University have already been attending training sessions during the past weeks.
As many as 30 faculty members including an associate professor, assistant professors, lecturers and teaching assistants attended a training seminar on High Voltage Switchgear where KESC Instructor Pervez Ahmed delivered extensive lecture on modern processes and technical advances that KESC has accomplished.
Later the visitors viewed practical on-load demonstration of the functioning of high voltage electrical distribution in the Electrical Laboratory of the Centre supervised by Instructor Abdul Qadir Memon who briefed the visitors on technical details.
The NED teachers expressed satisfaction over the fact that the KESC had better lab facilities than the University itself and said they would like to continue this useful process of learning.
This was the first ever training session for faculty members of NED Electrical Department at the KESC training centre.
In the past weeks, two batches of 50 NED students each from second and third years of learning have received similar training at the KESC centre. More students would be attending practical training sessions at the centre in the coming weeks.
