Election Commission Pakistan (ECP) acknowledged the complaints of both political parties alleged that rigging and hijacking activities were happened in several polling stations on May 11.
Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI) and Jamaat e Islami (JI) have raised the issue after which rest of the parties joined the chorus of rigging. However, the difference between PTI and MQM could be the constituencies where they have demanded re-polling.
PTI is demanding a re-polling allover Karachi while MQM is demanding only in NA-250.
ECP has directed on Tuesday to conduct re-polling in quarrelled NA-250 constituency on May 19 in 43 polling stations of the area under the supervision of army.
However, MQM rejected the ECP’s decision to organise re-polling on selected spots but on all 180 polling stations of the constituency.
Moreover, MQM’s sit in is underway in front of ECP office in Karachi while Jamaat-e-Islami will hold protest on Bait-ul-Mukarram Masjid in Gulshan-e-Iqbal area and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf announced to organise sit in on Karachi Expo Center.
