RAWALPINDI: At least five people were injured in a clash between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) workers in Rawalpindi in wee hours on Saturday.
Sources said that the workers of both the parties clashed in NA- 56, a National Assembly’s (NA) constituency where PTI Chairman Imran Khan and PML-N’s Hanif Abbasi are contesting election.
“The angry workers attacked election offices of both the candidates, opened fire and used batons on each,” they said and added that five people were injured in the mishap and had been shifted to the Benazir hospital.
Heavy contingent of police has been reached in the constituency to control the situation.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has issued a list of its candidates who are contesting elections from NA-56 Rawalpindi in General Elections 2013. PTI has become a popular political party of Pakistan in no time. It is the result of efforts made by Imran Khan who is chairman of PTI.
The candidates of PTI in Rawalpindi are having good repute due to the popularity of their political party. Imran Khan has a faith in candidates of Rawalpindi that they will win and he will be able to formulate government at center.
Rawalpindi is a division and it has rural population also. The youth from urban as well as rural side is supporting PTI and Imran Khan in Rawalpindi.
