This year, 56000 Pakistanis will go for Hajj through government scheme will private travel agencies will carry 86000 pilgrims.

About the expenditure, Minister informed media that Karachi, Quetta and Sukkur pilgrims will have to spend 262000 while those belonging to Islamabad, Multan, Rahim Yar Khan and Sialkot will have to pay 272000 Pakistani rupees for Hajj.

Yusuf said that due to the expansion project of Masjid-Ul-Haram, this year 20 percent less pilgrims will reach Saudi Arabia.

The new Hajj policy states that anyone who has performed Hajj during the last five years will not beeligible to partake in the pilgrimage this year except for those people who will be going as ‘Mehram’ or the ones performing ‘Hajj-e-Badal’.

April 09, 2014: Our sources reported that the Hajj Proposal has been sent to Cabnet for Approval, Hajj applications will be available from the banks as soon as Cabnet gives the approval. It is expected to be done in next two weeks.

April 01, 2014: According to sources: There is a conflict between Ministry and Pvt. Hajj Operators in Pakistan and this conflict is becoming the reason of delay of issuance of Hajj Forms. Hajj Ministry is not giving exact date of issuance of Hajj Applications.

18/03/2014: There is no information about the acceptance hajj applications and there is no response from Ministry of Religious Affairs (no one is picking up the telephones). We expect updates by the end of March 2014.

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan’s federal government has decided to announce new policy for Hajj, the Muslims’ yearly religious event offered in Mecca of Saudi Arabia, in the starting of March.

e Pakistan’s Ministry of Religious Affair will made an official announcement in early days of March after getting approval from federal cabinet.

Related departments, who are assigned for making nation-wide arrangements the largest religious event, will start the registration process in the second week of next month, Radio Pakistan reported.

The country’s ministry of religious affairs spokesperson told the local media during a press meeting today in Islamabad, the federal capital of Pakistan.

According to the spokesperson, Hajj application forms will be available at all the designated banks free of cost.

The banks would also receive applications in groups; up-to twenty five Hajj pilgrims through their group leaders while the intending pilgrims will be declared successful on first come and first served basis.

Hajj Quota for foreign pilgrims:

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) had earlier excused via an announcement for restoring the Hajj

quota for foreign and domestic pilgrims during the upcoming Hajj in current year 2014 due to the

ongoing expansion work.
