KARACHI: A Dubai-bound passenger flight of Pakistan International Airline (PIA), PK 213, made an emergency landing at Karachi airport after one of its engines caught fire minutes after taking off from here, Geo News reported Sunday.
According to PIA spokesman, Mashoor Tajwar all the 62 passengers of the plane remained safe in the incident.
He said a team of experts and engineers has started the plane’s inspection.
Earlier, the control tower issued a red alert, as preparations were made for the plane’s emergency landing at Karachi airport.
The initial report of a plane flying low came from eye witnesses from Korangi area. They also reported witnessing one of the wings of the plane being on fire, causing panic among the area people.
