Polling Starts late in NA-239 in Karachi

NA-239 KarachiKARACHI: Poling got delayed for an hour in some of the polling stations of the NA-239 of Karachi District West, according to The Express Tribune reporter Sohail Khattak.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) could not provide ballot papers and stationary during the night, a presiding officer of a polling station at Iqra Public School, Keamari said.

The polling agents were more in number than the polling station team inside.

The polling agents stopped the already delayed polling at some polling stations of the NA-239 for few minutes until the police got inside the station and cleared it.

Voters objected on the lack of the polling station staff and were calling the shortage of the polling stations staff responsible for the delay.

“Not more than 20 votes have been cast in an hour if they went with the same pace then hardly 200 voters would poll their votes,” said Saeed Ur Rehman, who was waiting for his turn at 20 meter long line at the Seaman Hostel polling station of Jackson Bazaar.
