LAHORE: Vice Chairman of Pakistan Peoples Party and former Prime Minister of Pakistan, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has been contacted by the kidnappers of his son, Ali Haider Gilani, and demanded ransom of billions.
According to the local TV sources, Vice Chairman of PPP has been demanded billions of rupees as ransom for the release of Ali Haider Gilani. Former National Assembly member who is in mutual contacts with the abductors and Gilani has made it possible to hold talks.
The abductors demanded billion as extortion from Gilani so that Ali Haider Gilani must be released. Sources say that former PM Gilani has agreed to the demands. He also had telephonic talk with his son and enquired about his health.
Earlier, unknown assailants came in a car with latest weapons opened fire on Ali just after his procession leaving his guard and secretary dead during his election campaign.
KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has nominated Senator Raza Rabbani as candidate for presidential elections, Geo News reported.
This was announced by PPP leader Makhdoom Amin Fahim in a press conference here Friday.
Amin Fahim said the party leadership and workers have supported Senator Raza Rabbani.

Islamabad: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain on Monday contacted President Asif Ali Zardari over telephone and discussed the current situation face by the top secular parties of the country during their election campaign.
The MQM chief conveyed the difficulties faced by the MQM, Awami National Party (ANP) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) during their election campaigns amid bombings and attacks on their election rallies and offices.
Altaf Hussain said that they will not be deterred by the attacks and will continue to organise political activities despite threats.
The MQM chief and Asif Ali Zardari also agreed over curbing the terrorism and increasing contacts in future to eliminate the threat.
