Rajesh Khanna was born on 29th December 1942 in Amritsar in rich family. His father worried about him because Rajesh took the acting career very seriously. In the year 1973 he married with Dimple Kapadia who is a Bollywood actress. Rajesh has two daughters Twinkle Khanna and Rinkie Khanna. Both of them are also actresses.

Rajesh Khanna won All India Talent Contest by board of jury such as Guru Datta, Bimal Roy, G.P.Sippi, B.R.Chopra etc. After this he joined the Bollywood in the year 1966 and he d�but the film “Aakhri Khat” but the film was ignored. He then performed some movies but was flopped on box office. He becomes famous with the film “Aradhana” released in the year 1969. This film was tremendously hit on box office and his actual career was started. He was 1970s popular hero and appeared in melodramatic and romantic films. Some of his hit films are Anand released in 1970, Amar Prem in 1971, Dag in 1973, Namak Haram in 1973, Prem Nagar and Aap Ki kasam in 1974and many more. He mostly appeared with the heroines Sharmila Tagore and Mumtaaz.

After these hit films he appeared in the movies based on family drama. He mostly appeared as leading character in films. Some of his films are Anurodh, Mehabooba, Karm, Amar Deepa, Palko ki Chaon Mein, Thodi si Bewafai, Soutan, Avatar, Amrit, Ghar Ka Chiraag, Agar Tum Na Hote and many. All these films were during the years 1976 to 1991. In only few films he played guest role such as Dharam Aur Kanoon, Dharam Kantaa, Rajpoot, Kudrat and Disco Dancer. During 1991-1996, Rajesh Khanna was a Member of Parliament for the Congress Party, from the New Delhi constituency. He has since been a political activist for the Congress Party expressing noteworthy, objective and constructive patriotism for India. From 1991 to 1996 he was a Parliament member for Congress Party from New Delhi. He stops the acting during that period. After few years of break, he made comeback with the film Aa Ab Laut Chale released in the year 1999. Then he performed Kya Dil NE Kaha in year 2002 and Jana – Let’s Fall In Love in year 2007.

Rajesh Khanna signed some Television serials and appeared as Jury in the reality shows such as K for Kishore. In the year 2001 and 2002 he performed in 2 TV serials Apane Paraye and Ittefaque. In 2007, he signed another serial under Creative Eye Banner and going to perform in a serial Bhabhimaa as a leading character with the Leena Ganguli.
