Fitrana fixed at Rs 80 per person in Pakistan

Islamabad: The minimum amount of ‘Sadqa-e-Fitr’ or ‘fitrana’ has been fixed at Rs80 per head this year, which is paid to the poor and needy before Eidul Fitr.Fitrana

According to the market price of 2.25 kilograms flour, the amount for ‘fitrana’ has been calculated at Rs80.

The faithful who wants to pay ‘fitrana’ equal to the price of barley, ‘khajoor’ (dates) and ‘kishmish’ should pay Rs220, Rs1,120 and Rs1,600 per head respectively.

Before the Eid prayer after the fast of Ramadan, every adult Muslim who possesses food in excess of his needs and those of his family must pay Zakat al Fitr. If the person is a breadwinner, he should also pay Zakat al Fitr for his dependants.

Seher ki dua (Roza rakhne ki Niyeat)

“وَبِصَوْمِ غَدٍ نَّوَيْتَ مِنْ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ“

English Pronounce : “Wa bisawmi ghadinn nawaiytu min shahri Ramadan”
Translation : “I intend to keep the fast for tomorrow in the month of Ramadan”
[abu Dawud]

After this we work whole day and come back our home before namaz-e-
Maghrib (The time for Namaz-e-Maghrib commences soon after the sunset and lasts till the sky completely turns dark).
When breaking the fast- Iftar
Iftar ki dua (Roza Kholne ki Niyeat)

اللَّهُمَّ اِنِّى لَكَ صُمْتُ وَبِكَ امنْتُ [وَعَلَيْكَ تَوَكَّلْتُ] وَعَلَى رِزْقِكَ اَفْطَرْت “

English Pronounce : “Allahumma inni laka sumtu wa bika aamantu [wa ‘alayka tawakkaltu] wa ‘ala rizq-ika aftarthu”

Translation : “O Allah! I fasted for You and I believe in You [and I put my trust in You] and I break my fast with Your sustenance”
[“wa ‘alayka tawakkaltu” is quoted in some books of knowledge – but not all, hence it is in brackets]

Ramadan moon sighted in UAE, Saudi Arabia

RIYADH: Muslims in the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia will begin fasting tomorrow (Friday) as moon was sighted there on Thursday evening, reports said.Ramazan moon sighted

In Pakistan, the Central Ruat-e-Hilal Committee will meet on Friday in Karachi for sighting of the Ramadan crescent.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has formed a committee of religious scholars to mull over starting of the holy month on the same date with rest of the country.
