India TV apologises over implicating slain Pakistani politician in Hyderabad blasts

Manzar ImamNew Delhi: An Indian News Channel on Monday night apologized over their blunder of referring Pakistani politician Manzar Imam to a terrorist, who was blamed for masterminding the attacks in Indian city of Hyderabad that claimed lives of almost 16 people and injured more than 100.

India TV used photo of Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s slain leader Manzar Imam instead of an alleged suspect behind the recent Hyderabad blasts.

The news channel was referring to a member of the Indian Mujahideen (IM), but mistakenly used Imam’s image.

Imam was killed by the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan last month in Pakistan’s largest city Karachi.

Pakistan’s Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Monday demanded a formal apology from India to Pakistan for implicating a deceased member of the Sindh Assembly from Muttahida Qaumi Movement Manzar Imam in the recent bomb blasts in Hyderabad.
