Lahore: Tehrik-i-Minhajul Quran (TMQ) Chief Tahirul Qadri on Wednesday said that talks of electoral alliance with Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI) were underway and final decision would be taken on March 13 in a party meeting.
Talking to media at Lahore airport before leaving for Canada, Qadri said that he was leaving for Canada for the medical treatment and would return on March 11.
The TMQ chief said that the MQM and other parties were willing to form an electoral alliance with their party but the decision on the alliance would be made in the meeting of the federal council of the party on March 13.
Decision to either take part in the elections or boycott will be decided in the party meeting, he added.
Qadri further said that Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has approved their demands of scurutiny of the election candidates.
“Opposition and government are annoyed over the approval of our demands,” he said.
The TMQ chief further added that just like the nation he also have suspicions over the holding of general elections in the country.
