After a health scare at the beginning of the year, doctors had advised Salman to go slow on the heavy weights.
Coupled with his decision to quit smoking this resulted in a very evident bloat, which was also commented upon by good friend Aamir Khan.
“He was aware that he had put on some weight. Though the intensity of his workouts reduced for a short phase, he never missed the sessions.
Even Aamir, when he was shooting nearby around April pointed it out and told him that he needs to get back to his old physique,” said the source.
Salman soon chalked out a plan with strenuous gym sessions and a strict diet. “He planned his work out sessions divided into cardio sessions and weight training.
He goes for cycling or jogging for an hour, dead lifts to improve leg and back muscles. His push up count can go up to 1000 and up to 500 crunches,” added the source.
About Salman s diet, the source added, “His diet is very simple, depending on whether he is shooting on that day or not. He eats a lot of fruits and salad s throughout the day.
He loves non-veg food like chicken or fish and ensures he doesn t over stuff himself. He prefers to end his day with a soup.
The dedicated diet has helped him to get his old physique back.”
