Cabinet division has issued notification subjecting to the disqualification of ex-PM Gilani.
According to notification, Yousaf Raza Gilani was disqualified from the post of prime minister on April 26. The cabinet division also issued directives to dissolve the federal cabinet.
The posts of federal ministers, state ministers advisors to PM and special consultants have also been suspended. However, federal ministers along with other cabinet members will enjoy privileges for fifteen days.
The federal cabinet comprised thirty five ministers, eighteen state ministers, four advisers and six special consultants.
The election commission declared Gilani ineligible from April 26 after reviewing Supreme Court’s verdict.
Ex-PM Gilani’s membership of parliament from constituency NA-151 Multan was also suspended.
A seven-member bench of Supreme Court announced the verdict in contempt case against ex-PM Gilani on April 26 on which National assembly s speaker issued another ruling that declared PM Gilani eligible to hold the office.
However, on June 19, a three-member bench headed by Chief Justice declared Gilani ineligible to hold the office of Prime Minister in the light of April 26 verdict.
Nawaz Sharif said that Yousaf Raza Gilani has been no more an MNA, so he should resign from office.While addressing a press conference along with his committed party members including Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Punjab CM Shahbaz Shareef and Ishaq Dar, he said that Yousaf Raza Gilani has lost his credibility after the verdict of the Supreme Court; so he should resign from the office.
Nawaz Sharif said that he has no personal grudge with Mr Gilani sb the reality must be faced, adding that Yousaf Raza Gilani should avoid putting the nation on another trial.
“When Gilani came to office, he had taken an oath to the constitution rather than any other person. So he should respect the constitution and resign from his office without any hesitation.” He advocated.
He said that it is deplorable to say that that the country is being run without any government as PM Gilani has been declared convicted of committing contempt to the court.
He said that President Asif Ali Zardai is responsible for the chaotic condition, adding that the country is passing through a hard time while rulers are busing in securing their rule for their personal interests.
He said that there will be no compromise on the looted wealth which president has deposited in Swiss banks.
